Supporting you to help live your life, your way
We work with people aged over 18, and their family carers, to help them maintain their independence and enable them to continue making day to day choices on how they want to live their lives.
People we support include:
- adults with learning disabilities
- people with physical disabilities (including sensory impairments)
- people with mental health problems
- people in need of safeguarding
- older people
- people with substance misuse problems
- family carers
More information about these services can be found by clicking on the links on this page.
If you or someone you know needs some support to help remain independent, or if you are a carer who cares for a loved one and you need support, then please get in touch with us.
How to contact us
If you have never contacted social care before and think you need some help, support or advice, you can now contact the council on just one single number.
You can call 0345 678 9044 and will be answered by our experienced and professional advisers at Shropshire Council’s Customer Service Centre who will be on hand to offer advice and help identify whether you are eligible for a service.
All calls will be dealt with sensitively and in the strictest of confidence by our friendly and dedicated team of advisers, who will ensure you get the right help and support as quickly and easily as possible. We can also signpost you to other relevant services within the council.
People who already receive social care support from the council can still call their local social care team. However, the Customer Service Centre will be the first port of call for new customers who need social care or other support for the first time.
If you or someone you know requires help, support or advice about social care for the first time, then call on 0345 678 9044. Our Minicom number is 01743 210318.
For emergency calls, customers can still call our out of hours service on 0345 678 9040.
