Day care for older people

The 3 day centres in Shropshire all aim to help older people continue living at home, they provide the opportunity to members for socialising and meeting friends, and offer relief for family carers on a regular basis.

The day centres are located in Ludlow, Ellesmere and Whitchurch and are open 7 days a week. Access to the day services is through the local Social Work teams who establish whether an older person's needs will be best met by day care.

Members of the day centre can take part in activities and day trips which are organised in consultation with them.

All staff are trained and work to nationally approved professional standards. Transport to and from the day centre will often be organised as part of the service and meals can be provided along with drinks and snacks.
