Make an adult protection referral

Are you concerned about abuse towards a vulnerable adult? Do you want to report it?

Abuse comes in many different forms, these include financial, physical, emotional, sexual and discriminatory abuse and neglect. If you are at all concerned about abuse towards an adult please report it to our Social Care Teams.

You can report your concerns about abuse by:

• completing the online form or
• printing and completing the pdf form attached to this page, and posting it to us (use the contact button for our address)

What happens next?
When you report your concerns to us, we will use our Multi-Agency Adult Protection Policy to investigate the situation. Please follow the link to 'Adult Protection' to view this policy and find out how we will deal with your report.

Data protection statement
Shropshire County Council will use the information provided for collation of information relating to situations of potential abuse. Any concerns about possible abuse will be discussed with other agencies, including the Police.

The source of information will be treated as confidential and will only be shared with others if it helps to protect the vulnerable adult. If information needs to be passed on to others you can expect to be told before the information is shared and to be kept informed about what is happening.

Information will be retained for a maximum period of 2 years from submission.
