With this in mind many young people are now choosing apprenticeships - which allow you to gain skills, experience and qualifications while they learn and get paid a wage. London Economics recently calculated that the lifetime benefit of achieving an Apprenticeship was extra earnings of between £48,000 - £117,000.

My apprenticeship has been great as it has allowed me to learn all about business, and gain loads of new skills as well as helping me to secure a full time job.”
