Getting to Shropshire Archives
By bus
The Shropshire Archives building is opposite stand S at the bus station. Follow the steps around the building to the public entrance.
By train
The railway station is only a few minutes walk away. Simply walk up the hill (Castle Gates) towards the town centre and look out for the archway on your right. Go through the archway and you will see the entrance to Shropshire Archives.
By cycle
Four cycle stands are provided near the entrance to Shropshire Archives.
By car
We recommend use of the Park and Ride services from Harlescott, Meole Brace and Oxon. The buses stop close by (by the railway station). The nearest car parks are at Raven Meadows and in Howard Street (the railway station car park).
If you are disabled
We have two parking spaces for disabled users outside our public entrance in Castle Gates. If you would like to reserve a place, please phone our Customer Service Centre on 01743 255350.
The attached map shows the location of Shrewsbury Library, with Shropshire Archives just down the hill at location B.
Please note, the Reference Library building has now closed. The integrated reference and lending service is now at Shrewsbury Library.
