This page is designed to help you find what you need once you arrive at Shropshire Archives.
Shropshire Archives is split into three areas:
- Entrance: this area includes the shop, coffee room and toilets
- Reading Room: this area contains books as well as sources on microfiche, microfilm and CD Rom and our People's Network computers
- Search Room: this is the area where original documents (archives), photographs and some rare or fragile books are produced. You can also consult electoral registers in the Search Room.
On arrival
You will be asked to sign the visitors' book each time you visit Shropshire Archives.
If you have booked a microfiche or microfilm reader or computer, please check with staff to see which machine has been reserved for you.
If you want to see any archives or other material produced in the Search Room you will need to apply for a Shropshire Archives Reader's Ticket and leave any bags or coats in a locker.
Under 16s using the Internet will need a Student Ticket to use the computers.
Please select the links for more details about how to find information in the Reading Room and the Search Room.
