How to apply
If you are interested in volunteering at Shropshire Archives, please fill in the attached form and post it back to us. We will keep your details on file and contact you when there is a suitable volunteering opportunity. We are often oversubscribed with willing volunteers, so please don't be too disappointed if we can't offer you something straightaway and ask you to wait until a suitable opportunity arises. At the moment we are asking volunteers to wait until the Volunteering for Shropshire's Heritage project gets underway.
Volunteering for Shropshire's Heritage
Working in partnership with Shropshire Archives and Shropshire Council's museums service over the course of a three year project, 250 people will have the opportunity to work on some of Shropshire’s outstanding heritage collections. This will mean that thousands of items from the museum and archive collections will be opened up and made accessible to the public. Volunteers will have the chance to gain valuable skills and experience in conservation, cataloguing and digitisation, and creating new online resources, events, exhibitions and displays.
