What?
An exhibition of striking posters for a stunning array of touring acts which visited Shrewsbury in the Victorian era including acrobats, hot air balloons, magicians and menageries of animals from around the world. They reflect Victorian society in its diversity as performers attempted to astonish, inform and entertain their audience.
A number of these events took place in the Music Hall currently being transformed into a new venue for the Shrewsbury's Museum and Art Gallery, due to open in 2013.
The original posters are in Eyton Collection at Shropshire Archives and we are grateful to the family for letting us copy them for this exhibition.
