What we hold at Shropshire Archives
Shropshire Archives holds material to help you study virtually any aspect of Shropshire's past. From prehistoric archaeology and geology through to modern times, we have information to help you discover Shropshire's rich heritage.
We hold original archive sources including documents, maps, newspapers and photographs, as well as the county's largest collection of books, pamphlets and periodicals relating to Shropshire and the Borough of Telford and Wrekin.
Online Catalogues
You can find details of many of the archive collections held at Shropshire Archives' by searching our own Online Catalogue (select link on this page). We are also in the process of developing a new version of the Online Catalogue as part of the Discovering Shropshire's History website (please select the link).
Many of our archive collections can also be searched on the national Access to Archives (A2A) website (again, please select the link). We continually work to increase the number of collections available online, it is worth visiting both these sites on a regular basis to check for updates.

Guides to Sources
We publish guides which provide useful information about the different types of records available and how they can help with your research. Online and CD ROM Sources
We have CD ROM programs providing access to local and national sources of interest to family and local historians. We have a subscription to Ancestry Library Edition so that customers can use the website free of charge. For further information, please use the link provided.
