Where Building Regulations are applicable to your building works you have two options available, either Full Plans or Building Notice type applications, if you are unsure about which type of application is most appropriate please contact us.
Please note applications may be submitted by post or via e-mail along with the appropriate fee. Payments can be made by post, on-line or over the phone. Please follow the links on this page to view application forms, the current charges table and methods of payment.
If you find yourself in a position where works have been carried out but the building has no Building Control approval then a Regularisation form may be appropriate.
Payments by Phone
If you would like to make a payments by phone please ring 01743 252440.
Payments by Cheque
Payments by cheque are currently accepted, however Shropshire Council would prefer to receive payments on line or by phone.
Online Building Control Payments
When making a payment select Online Building Control Payments from the related information section at the bottom of this page. Once in the payments section choose the correct category to make your payment to, these should be as follows:
When submitting a new application
Please choose the Building Control Fee payment type link on the listings to the left.
At the top of the Building Control Fees Payment screen is a pull down menu from which the correct payment type is selected, these are:
Full Plans Building Notice
(including all in area partner agents applications).
Please choose plan fee:
- Other Authorities submitting applications that are out of area. Please choose Partnership .
- Applications for energy ratings and energy performance certificates. Please choose Energy rating .
- Solicitors requiring an application search or copy certificate. Please choose Solicitors copies .
- For retrospective applications (where work has been carried out and completed). Please choose Regularisation.
When paying an invoice
Please choose the Sales Invoice payment link on the listings to the left for paying Building Control invoices generally prefixed HBC i.e. inspection fees, sustainable homes or energy invoices.
Please choose the item which the invoice relates to from the drop down menu.
Public Sewer Transfer
As from the 1st October 2011 the ownership of many private drains will be transferring to the ownership of your sewage authority. Please see the Private Sewer Transfer pdf attached to this page for further information or the website link to water.org.uk.

Pay your Building Control fees on line
