Policy and Performance team

Core duties
- Working across the council and partners to promote and develop a corporate approach to performance management, using our Performance Management System, PerformancePlus.
- Co-ordinating corporate performance data to ensure timely collection and analysis.
- Development of our Corporate Performance Management Framework which concentrates on local, customer focused data, linked to costs to provide regular Value for Money updates.
- Development of the council’s Corporate Plan.
- Implement and inform corporate Equalities & Diversity policies and providing support to members and staff.
- Working with Shropshire Partnership, supporting the Equalities Forum on initiatives such as the Hate Crime initiative and Migrant Workers.
- Lead on progression from ‘developing’ to ‘achieving’ against the Equalities Framework.
Transformation Programme
Policy & Performance is also the Transformation Programme Management Office. The Transformation Programme for Shropshire Council is structured around the three key aims of Shropshire Council’s Transitional Corporate Plan 2010-2013 namely; Enterprise and Growth, Protecting and enhancing our Environment and Healthy, Safe and Confident Communities and is underpinned by the following six work streams:
- Creating the Conditions for Success
- Loving Our Customers
- Locality Working and Market Towns
- Partnership Capacity, Total Place and Communications
- Value for Money (Carbon Management)
- Community Leadership
The team are providing robust project management support to each of the individual workstreams and are responsible for monitoring progress, identifying and cross cutting issues and interdependencies to ensure there is capacity to deliver what’s required on time.
The team has responsibility of providing monitoring reports to both for the high level Transformation Programme Board on a monthly basis and for the quarterly performance reports through to Cabinet and Scrutiny.
