This statement is at the heart of everything Shropshire County Council does. This is our vision and the work of Performance, Policy and Scrutiny helps to make it a continuing reality.

The Unit comprises of two main functions:

  • Performance and policy
  • Scrutiny

The team:

  • Wendy Marston, Head of Performance and Scrutiny
  • Barbara Stafford-Cairns, Corporate Performance Officer
  • Ed Bailey, Local Area Agreement Performance Officer
  • Holly Aspinall, Corporate Projects Officer
  • Kal Parkash, Diversity Officer
  • Liz Adams, Performance Improvement Officer
  • Stefanie Bell, Strategic Policy Officer

Services of the Performance, Policy and Scrutiny unit include:

  • co-ordinating the strategic planning for the County Council, for example co-ordinating production of the Corporate Plan, and development of the Local Area Agreement (LAA).
  • leading on Equalities and Diversity.
  • leading on the development of Scrutiny across the council.
  • presenting Corporate performance monitoring reports to track progress on the authorities priorities.
  • publishing an annual Performance Plan in line with government guidelines, including 3 year targets on all best value performance indicators.
  • supporting the delivery of the Local Area Agreement, including providing performance management reports to the Public Service Board, co-ordinating the delivery planning process and producing Annual Review and Refresh information to Government Office West Midlands and the department for Communities and Local Government.
