If you are thinking of becoming a childcare provider but do not know what it involves, please come along to the following information sessions offered by the Early Years Education and Childcare Team.
How to become a childminder
This 2 hour interactive session focuses on:
- working with children and their families in a home based setting;
- the step by step approach to registration with Ofsted;
- the training and support available.
Ofsted application forms for childminder registration will only be available at this session.
Meeting Ofsted registration requirements for all types of childcare
This 2 hour interactive session focuses on:
- the Early Years / Childcare Registers and their requirements;
- the different types of childcare;
- preparing for registration.
This session will provide you with information about Ofsted’s childcare registers and which register(s) apply to you, therefore it is an important part of the initial registration process.
Anyone wishing to register as a childminder must attend both ‘How to become a childminder’ and ‘Meeting Ofsted registration requirements’ in order to receive their certificate.
Anyone who is interested in becoming registered to deliver any other type of childcare need only attend ‘Meeting Ofsted registration requirements’.
