Target audience
This two day, interactive workshop is offered to those who regularly work with vulnerable young people who are at a risk of suicide. The course is aimed at frontline practitioners not their supervisors/managers.
Aim of course
This training is delivered on a multi-agency basis to front line workers, to up-skill and build confidence when working with those who are at risk of suicide.
Course objectives
STORM training objectives are:
- To develop/enhance skills and confidence in assessment and management of suicide
- To provide a forum for discussion on related practice issues
- To provide a common language around assessment and management of suicide
- To provide networking opportunities with other professionals/agencies
Cost
All SSCB training is free of charge to the following agencies as they contribute financially to the SSCB: Shropshire Council, Shropshire Maintained Primary and Secondary Schools, SaTH, Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Hospital, Shropshire Community Health Trust, GPs, West Mercia Police, Probation Service, CAFCASS, Shrewsbury College of Arts & Technology, Derwen College, Ludlow College, Walford & North Shropshire College, Shrewsbury Sixth Form College, Youth Offending Service and Shropshire Fire & Rescue. This training is also free of charge to voluntary organisations and charities registered with the Charity Commission, who work with children & young people based in Shropshire.
All other agencies are charged at £140 a delegate, and an invoice will be raised to collect payment of charge to all agencies. The cancellation policy applies to all agencies (see information flyer).
