ContactPoint Literature
ContactPoint is currently being introduced across England, led by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DSCF). It is the quick way for practitioners to find out who else is working with the same child, making it easier to deliver more coordinated support.
Posters, leaflets and factsheets around ContactPoint are available and are aimed at parents, carers, children/ young people and practitioners. If you would like to receive any of these, please contact Shropshire ContactPoint team:
Phone: 01743 254203 Email: contactpoint@shropshire.gov.uk

CAF Cards
There are child friendly CAF cards which accompany the child friendly CAF form. To order copies of the cards, please contact Telford Reprographics on 01952 670211. The cost per set is £2.66. This doesn't include the cost of VAT.
The CAF and Lead Professional guidance has been refreshed in July 2009 to update the documents in line with recent policy changes and to make them more accessible.
The refreshed CAF guidance now includes a table which maps CAF to other specialist assessments such as ASSET and Onset which should aid transitions between services, as well as new advice on sharing and storing of CAF forms, and making them fit with fair-processing.
Refreshed Guidance
The refreshed Lead Professional guidance places more emphasis on the role of the Team around the Child (TAC), and also contains a list of skills helpful when taking on the role of the lead professional.
We are currently reviewing the guidance to align local processes as appropriate. The DCSF also issued a new national CAF form which we are also reviewing in line with our current Shropshire CAF.
A reminder about the above guidance:
The Managers' guides are for all strategic and operational managers across all children's services who have responsibility for implementing the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) and a Lead Professional model of working, to ensure better outcomes for children, young people and their families.
The Practitioners' guides are for all practitioners who want to know more about CAF and Lead Professional and for those who are already carrying out CAFs and Lead Professional work.
Services for Children and Young People number poster
