I am or have been cared for by someone who my parents found to look after me as a private arrangement but checked out by the Children and Young People's Services Directorate.
If this is the case you will be classed as 'Qualifying' under the Children Leaving Care Act 2000. If you were cared for in other settings you could also qualify. Contact the Leaving Care Team to find out further details.
As a young person who is 'Qualifying' you will:
- Get help, advice and support from the Local Authority that last looked after you. This may include financial help getting somewhere safe to live and help with training or education.and
- your Local Authority must also keep in touch with you
