Inter-agency child protection training in Shropshire is organised by Shropshire's Safeguarding Children Board (SSCB), and co-ordinated on its behalf by the SSCB's Inter-agency Safeguarding Training Project, which is currently based within Shropshire Council.
The government guidance, Working Together to Safeguard Children, 2013 sets out how organisations and individuals should work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in accordance with the Children Act 1989 and the Children Act 2004 & 2007.
Employers are responsible for ensuring that their staff are competent and confident in carrying out their responsibilities for safeguarding and promoting children and young people's welfare. Employers have a responsibility to ensure that all staff are given the opportunity to attend courses in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, or ensure that safeguarding training is provided within their organisation.
The SSCB produces a Multi-agency Training Schedule each year which all agencies working with children and young people or their families in Shropshire can access.
