Sure Start Children's Centres have a team of Support Workers who can visit you at home or welcome you at your local Family Centre.
There may be all sorts of reasons why you might like to chat with a Children's Centre Support Worker and they in turn are able to offer you a range of support including:
- development of play and learning activities at home
- information and support to dads as well as mums
- access to parenting support programmes
- advice on your child's behaviour, for example: bedtime routines, eating habits and bed-wetting
Children's Centre Support Workers can also help you with other enquiries such as jobs, benefits and Childcare and offer support in health promotion activities like stopping smoking, breastfeeding and preventing accidents in the home.
