Latest developments in Sure Start Children's Centres

There are now eighteen Sure Start Children’s Centre areas covering the whole of Shropshire. This means that services are now being delivered right across the County from a range of places.

This has been achieved ahead of the Government set target date of March 2010 (for more details please follow the link to Latest news stories in the left hand column).

The latest Sure Start Children’s Centres areas to develop services are:

• Whitchurch
• South Oswestry
• Broseley and Wenlock
• Bridgnorth

A full range of services can now be accessed including:

• Drop Ins - Stay and Play sessions for families
• Bumps and Babes for pregnant parents and young children
• Family Support for when extra help is needed
• Access to health services and advice for your child
• Breastfeeding support
• Family Learning activities - for you to develop new skills and interests

The eighteen Children’s Centres areas also continue to link with schools providing access to extended services and the work of other partners to bring a quality integrated range of opportunities to all communities in Shropshire.
