As part of the move towards the launch of a Shropshire Council in April 2009 a series of eleven pilot Local Joint Committees (LJCs) took place across the county.
The pilots were used to test out how the new LJCs will work; how best to run the meetings and involve members of the public in the decision making processes of the local authority. The pilot LJCs also had funds available to them to help support local projects with their areas.
The links on these pages give details of the pilot LJCs and the meetings they have held. These pilot meetings have now come to an end and been replaced by 28 Local Joint Committees covering the whole of Shropshire. Full details of the 28 LJC geographical areas can be found on the "Future of Local Joint Committees" link on this page.
