There is a chance for people to make a real difference at a public meeting taking place next Tuesday (7 July) at Whittington Community Hall, Station Road, Whittington.
The Whittington, Ruyton and Baschurch Local Joint Committee is one of 28 Local Joint Committees set up by Shropshire Council to encourage people to help improve their area.
There is £28,000 available to spend on projects, and people can raise any issue they feel is important at the meeting – which will start at 7pm.
The Local Joint Committee (LJC) will meet four times a year and a panel of councillors from Shropshire Council and parish and town councils vote on how to spend the budget.
But is vital that residents come to the meeting to have their say on what improvements they want to see in their local area.
The committee includes the villages of Whittington, Ruyton, Baschurch, Hordley and West Felton, and various topics are due to be discussed at the first meeting. Items on the agenda include traffic-related issues – such as speeding, parking and lorries – environmental issues, facilities for young people, along with a public question time when anyone can raise any issue they like.
