All residents from Cheswardine, Hodnet, Hinstock, Norton-in-Hales, Market Drayton, Stoke-upon-Tern, Sutton-upon-Tern and Woore are welcome to attend.

The meeting is a chance for local people to come along and find out about council services and discuss issues and possible solutions within their communities.

Agenda items at March's meeting include:-

• Young people from Market Drayton Youth Centre will be giving a presentation on what it is like being a young person living in the town.
• Presentation from Just Credit Union.
• There will also be time for public questions, updates on issues raised at previous meetings and on projects funded and applying for funding from the Local Joint Committee budget;
• The Local Policing Team will also be giving updates along with the progress of Community Speedwatch.

At the previous December meeting presentations were given on 'Love food hate Waste' and Shropshire Council Budget consultation. Updates were also given on the previously funded projects including the Farmers Market, Angling project and Tern Hill Youth Project. The Local Policing team was also on hand to give their update.

The Local Joint Committee has a budget to fund projects that benefit the wider community – applications for funding at the September meeting were considered and agreed upon by the LJC Panel of Councillors. These included;

• Shrewsbury Children's Bookfest - to involve local children in literature and the arts - £6,000
• Market Drayton Cricket Club – for coaching training - £380
• Cheswardine Football Club – for setting up costs - £1,000
• Market Drayton Chamber of Trade and Commerce - towards the Market Drayton Farmer's Market - £1,700
• Tern Hill Youth Club - towards a canoeing, music and cookery weekend - £400

Except in the case of urgency, decisions taken by the Local Joint Committee will not be actioned until a period of seven days has elapsed from the date of the meeting to allow time for publication and potential call-in of the decisions

This meeting is open to everyone and is a chance for people to find out what is going on in their area, as well as raise issues that are important within their communities.
