Three Area Partnerships cover the northern, central and southern areas of the county, each supported by an Area Partnership Officer. Their focus is on identifying and delivering priorities that will improve the quality of life for people in Shropshire. The membership of each partnership will vary according to local circumstances but will include key public, private and voluntary sector representatives.
Shropshire Council understands and acknowledges that different parts of the county have different characteristics and face different issues. To reflect this diversity the area structure has been developed, allowing local partners, supported by the Community Working team, to work together to address local priorities.
The work of the Area Partnerships will also help support and deliver the priorities identified in the county's Sustainable Community Strategy and Local Area Agreement.
The Area Partnerships are part of the Shropshire Partnership, the county's Local Strategic Partnership (LSP). The Shropshire Partnership is a strategic partnership involving councils, regional, public and local agencies, the voluntary and community sector, business, young people and equality and diversity communities. Partners work together to meet local needs and improve the quality of life in Shropshire.
