The next meeting of the Loton and Tern Local Joint Committee takes place on Thursday 25th March at 7pm at Upton Magna Village Hall.
The main agenda item will be a presentation by Amy Mottram, from the Shropshire Council Planning team, who will be explaining how the planning process works in Shropshire, and what considerations the Council has to make when assessing planning applications.
Councillor John Everall, Chair of Loton and Tern LJC said, "We realise that planning in rural areas can be a difficult process, as we need to balance protecting the character of rural communities against the need to provide new homes and jobs. We also value the role Parish Councils play in helping us assess planning applications. We hope that this presentation will help answer questions people have about planning and how they can get involved in influencing future developments in their area"
The local police team will also be at the meeting and members of the public can raise any local policing issues or community safety concerns.
The meeting will also review funding applications that have been received since the last meeting.
Members of the public are welcome to raise any issues they feel need discussing with their local councillors, or they can simply listen to the latest news and developments affecting the area.
