The first meeting of the Eastern Shrewsbury Local Joint Committee was held on Monday 6 July 2009. Eastern Shrewsbury covers the electoral wards of Underdale, Monkmoor and Abbey.

Three meetings have taken place since 1 April 2009. Items on the agenda have included a presentation on community led planning, a community consultation exercise to gather information to be included in the community plan and allocation of the committees £40,000 budget.
The latest meeting was held on Tuesday 1 December. Local residents were given the opportunity to have their say on Shropshire Councils Budget proposals. They also heard about the current work undertaken by the Community Regeneration Officer, the free safety checks offered by Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service and an update from the Local Policing Team. Four funding applications were also discussed by the committee members.
The Local Joint Committee next meets on Wednesday 3 March 2010 at the Wilfred Owen School, Monkmoor Campus, Woodcote Way, Shrewsbury,
SY2 5SH, at 7.00pm.
The deadline for funding applications to be considered at the March meeting was Friday 5 February 2010. Please contact the community working officer on the number below if you would like to submit a funding application to be considered at the next meeting.
