An operator must have a certificate before charging the public to use a weighbridge. This is issued by Trading Standards following the satisfactory completion of a proficiency test.
To obtain the certificate, the operator needs to be familiar with legislation relating to weighbridge equipment and its operation, particularly Section 20 of Weights and Measures Act 1985. For more information, including a list of public weighbridges in Shropshire, please see the link on this page.
