The circumstances under which you can make a formal proposal against your band are very limited but, if you believe your home may be in the wrong band, you should contact your local valuation office to ask for your band to be reviewed.

You still have to pay your council tax based on the band shown in the list even if you have appealed against it. Provided that you have kept up with your payments, any overpayment made when an appeal is successful will be refunded.
