Images of community living and countryside

  • are you part of a local community group looking to improve your village pond?
  • do you have an old orchard or old hedgerow trees and are looking for some advice?
  • or is your local footpath is overgrown or you would like kissing gates instead of stiles?

The chances are that we can help you either directly or put you in touch with someone who can. These pages will give you a little more information but note that they are still under development.

Are you thinking of writing a parish plan? We can help you by:

  • describing the key environmental, heritage and access issues and opportunities for Shropshire
  • questions that you could include in your plan consultation
  • further sources of information and funding
  • and case studies drawn from other parish plans

There are attachments on this page for more information.

For further information on parish plans visit the Community Council for Shropshire and Countryside Agency websites.

Do you need guidance and advice with the development of conservation and/or access projects?
We might be able to visit you and provide advice, particularly if you are a community group and/or are concerned with countryside access and certain priority habitats and species. If we can’t help you we may know an organisation that can. We may also be able to guide you towards possible funding sources.

Do you need practical help including funding to implement projects?
In some cases the Countryside Service can get involved in your project, we might be able to provide you with material to repair your right of way or we might be able to do the work ourselves. Small grants are occasionally available from the County Council. Alternatively we can help you access other sources of funding.
