Recreational Activities
Some easy and level walking but there are some steep and difficult paths, and the site may be muddy.
Lyth Hill provides, arguably, some of the best panoramic views of the south Shropshire Hills, from The Wrekin in the east to Wenlock Edge in the south-east, and the Stiperstones in the south-west. The site has areas of woodland, scrub, and open grassland providing a wildlife refuge on the outskirts of Shrewsbury.
Historically, ropemaking was carried out on the site and the author Mary Webb, author of 'Precious Bane', is associated with the area.
A new family-friendly route has been designed at the site and is available for download on this page.

Grazing
Grazing is the best way of managing the meadows on this site, and we are working with the 'Shropshire Local Grazing Scheme (SLGS)' to support or introduce grazing management where feasible.
