County Training has a vast experience of working with unemployed adults and moving them into work. We have held contracts with Jobcentre Plus for many years and due to our exceptional performance in the last few years have become the largest provider in Shropshire and one of the most successful in the West Midlands.
New Deal
Our New Deal programmes give people aged 18+ on Job Seekers Allowance, the help and support they need to get work.
Our programmes enable us to support people in real danger of becoming permanently detached from the labour market. We adopt a client centred approach and work with people to break the cycle that is preventing them from moving into work.
Our clients may have multiple barriers, which need addressing before they can consider moving into work, these may include:
County Training have a variety of programmes which aim to help people address their basic skills needs, improve their employability and move into work.
Programmes are individually tailored to meet client's personal needs. All clients will receive a realistic training/ development plan.
Programme Centre
The overall aim of the programme is to help participants update jobsearch skills, and enable them to find employment.
Key objectives:
A personal adviser will develop an Individual Action Plan. The pattern of attendance will be agreed on an individual basis.
Pathway to Work
The Pathways to Work programme, is operated across the Marches by Remploy, working in partnership with County Training in Shropshire. It is a Government programme designed to give people receiving incapacity benefits extra support to start or return to work.
It aims to find jobs for over 2,500 people in Shropshire in the next three years. This new initiative provides a range of services and advice to support those on health-related benefits and assist them back into the workplace.
It also helps to develop employability skills, combat unemployment and empowers you to use your skills.
County Training is highly successful in helping people find work and have dedicated staff offering practical help, advice and support. We have strong links with local employers and countywide resources and facilities making us easy to access.
We will provide advice on how working will affect participants financially and continue to support them in their new job.

Next Step promotes learning and work to all adults aged 20 and over, offering advice on work and training in Shropshire.
