Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

The Education Advisory Service provides an extensive programme of continuing professional development training for school managers, teaching staff, support staff and governors. This training is provided either through courses delivered at a range of training centres across the county, or via school-based training sessions which can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of the school (or groups of schools if necessary).

The courses and school-based training sessions cover all aspects of primary, secondary and special education, as well as the very latest management issues. The programmes are continually updated to take account of the ever-changing local and national education agenda.

We are currently working on the development of an exciting new online booking facility via the Shropshire Learning Gateway which we are hoping to launch in time for the Autumn term 2009. This facility will allow you to browse through courses, get more information on the content and agenda, and book your staff on to courses. Together with SchoolsNet, the Gateway will also be used to inform you of new developments and opportunities as they emerge during the year.
