Shropshire Council, in partnership with PBM Inspection Services Ltd, is running a returners course for qualified teachers seeking to return to teaching in either the primary or secondary school phase.
This is a nationally recognised Return to Teach programme which is fully funded by the Training & Development Agency for Schools.
The course runs over a period of eight weeks and includes full day tutor-led training sessions at our Shrewsbury Training and Development Centre, one day equivalent per week of independent learning and school placements.
Areas covered include; updates on all primary subjects or your main secondary subject(s), together with other aspects including teaching strategies, classroom and behaviour management, assessment, inclusion and planning. The course will provide mentoring, help with the preparation of CVs, refresh your interview skills and provide further support in seeking teaching employment.
This training not only leads to a certificate of professional development, it also pays a daily attendance allowance of £20 for the duration of the course.
The course will start on 10 May 2011 and ends on 5 July 2011.
