Target audience

New and experienced leaders and managers.

Course content

There will be three termly network meetings throughout the year designed to enable heads of department to share practice and maintain constructive communication with each other. These meetings are open to heads of science in both Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin and will focus, for the main part, on matters not directly related to the Secondary National Strategy. Please note that there will be a separate programme of strategy meetings.

Intended outcomes

• The dissemination and evaluation of national and local developments
• The development of shared policy and practice
• Continuing development of the role of the head of science.

Programme

The programme will vary according to need. Delegates will be informed of the programme in advance of each session. The Spring term meeting will be a full day and will focus on curriculum development in chosen areas.

Where it is not possible for the head of science to attend it is acceptable for a designated representative of the department to attend in his/her absence.
