What is happening in Religious Education....

We will continue to promote an active approach to the teaching of RE through the continued development of the RE website as a support for the Agreed Syllabus. We will be looking to establish stronger links between schools and the SACRE so that teachers feel they have a strong voice in developments within the county. There is also a need to support teachers in coming to terms with some of the more difficult ideas within the syllabus.

The CPD provision is aimed at:

• providing effective support to co-ordinators to promote active and engaging RE in all schools, and
• building the link between teachers and SACRE to provide additional teacher support.

Primary Religious Education Network Meetings
Subject network meetings will include:

• an update on national, local and regional developments in the subject
• professional development in a topical subject-related issue
• sharing of effective practice with colleagues from other schools.
