Target audience

New leaders and managers.

Course content

A half-day welcome session for new and experienced headteachers appointed to first posts in Shropshire schools.

Intended outcomes

The welcome session will take place at the Shirehall and will provide opportunities to:

• meet with other headteachers
• tour the Shirehall and meet staff with whom you will have regular contact
• learn more about human resources, the financial management, and governance of Shropshire schools
• learn about the training and development opportunities available both to new and more experienced headteachers
• become more familiar with the strategies for support, challenge and monitoring of Shropshire County Council schools.
