What is happening in Assessment....
The following courses will help support the wide variety of assessment topics that are of particular importance to schools, ranging from:

  • the practical and applied areas of assessment for learning
  • through the statutory areas of National Curriculum testing and external examinations, and
  • leading through to the assessment tools that help support school self–evaluation including: tracking pupil progress, data analysis, RAISE-online and Fischer Family Trust.

Primary Assessment Network Meetings

Assessment for Learning for Teaching Assistants
This course will focus on the elements of assessment for learning and how these can be used effectively in the classroom by teaching assistants.

Spring Term 2009

Key Stage 1 Moderation Training for Teachers New to Year 2
To prepare Year 2 teachers for the administration of the statutory assessment arrangements at Key
Stage 1, including moderation of teacher assessment and a review of the tasks and tests.

Key Stage 1 Moderation Training for Experienced Year 2 Teachers
To prepare Year 2 teachers for the administration of the statutory assessment arrangements at Key
Stage 1, including moderation of teacher assessment and a review of the tasks and tests.

Key Stage 2 SATs Training for New Year 6 Teachers
To prepare new Year 6 teachers and/or administrators for the 2009 Year 6 tests and tasks. To provide advice on changes in access arrangements, and to provide feedback on the 2008 tests with a particular focus on science.

Key Stage 2 SATs Training for Experienced Year 6 Teachers &/or Administrators
To prepare experienced Year 6 teachers and/or administrators for the 2009 Year 6 tests and tasks. To provide advice on changes in access arrangements, and to provide feedback on the 2008 tests with a particular focus on science.

Assessment Update for Headteachers & Deputy Headteachers
This half-day course will update headteachers and deputy headteachers on the latest materials and guidance relating to assessment practice at Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
