Target audience

NQTs, experienced teachers, new and experienced leaders and managers, teachers in the early years of their careers, teaching assistants.

Course content

This session will provide a brief introduction to Dyspraxia. It will consider the characteristics displayed by a pupil with Dyspraxia, their implications for the classroom and general strategies for aiding their progress.

Intended outcomes

  • To be aware of the characteristics displayed by a pupil with Dyspraxia
  • To consider the practical implications for the classroom
  • To be aware of some general strategies that would help a pupil with Dyspraxia to access the curriculum.

Programme

This awareness raising training is being run to give colleagues some information about what dyspraxia is and general characteristics displayed by pupils with dyspraxia. We will look at some of the implications for classroom organisation and a range of strategies to support pupils with dyspraxia.

The programme will include:
- relevant background information
- identification
- practical strategies for the classroom.

We aim to put finalised course programmes on the website two weeks ahead of the course date.
