Primary Music Network Meetings
Subject network meetings will include:

• an update on national, local and regional developments in the subject
• professional development in a topical subject-related issue

Autumn 2008

Artsmark Briefing
The briefing in the Autumn term is designed to support schools applying for Round 9. The afternoon will entail going through the application form with input from an Arts Council Artsmark validator.
The briefing in the Spring term is designed to support schools who know very little about the award or who are thinking of applying for it and want to know how to
prepare in advance.

Kick-start Your Young Composers at Key Stage 2
The aim of this two part course is to suggest practical strategies to help enthuse pupils in practical composition in music. The work undertaken in part one is then put into practice in school and the results brought back to part two with a focus on assessment.

Effective Teaching in Music: A Residential Course for Newly Qualified Teachers at Arthog.
The course will include opportunities to participate in a range of activities and focus on key aspects of teaching and learning in music.

Exploring the Key Stage 2 Music Curriculum Using World Resources
A course to support the teaching of music at Key Stage 2 with a focus on music from 'world' sources.

A course to support the teaching of music at Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 using appropriate technology.
