Primary Design & Technology Network Meetings

Subject network meetings will include:

  • an update on national, local and regional developments in the subject
  • professional development in a topical subject-related issue
  • sharing of effective practice with colleagues from other schools.

Autumn Term 2008

Health & Safety Training for Primary D&T Co-ordinators
The local authority is offering one full day of health and safety training for design and technology co-ordinators/subject leaders. The purpose of this training is to develop delegates' expertise in relation to a nationally recognised framework of design and technology health and safety standards. One free place is available for each primary and special school in Shropshire.

Health & Safety Training for Primary D&T Co-ordinators - Assessment
This twilight session is aimed at delegates who have previously attended the 'Health and Safety Training for Primary D&T Co-ordinators' course and now wish to be assessed in relation to the Design & Technology Association's health and safety standards in primary design and technology. You will not be required to attend the whole session and the assessment will last approximately 15 minutes.

Extended Design & Technology Course (twilight sessions)
This is an Edge Hill accredited, extended D&T course intended to develop delegates' subject leadership skills and practical expertise. Delegates may choose to attend individual full days of the course or the whole course including tutorial sessions, school-based work and assignment(s).

Spring Term 2009

Introduction to Dye-Sublimation
Introduction to ISub Education Ltd and Dye-Sublimation Technology. Its relevance in education, the process equipment, costs, 3D printing, image generation software, types of projects and hands-on practical experience. Two items (of choice) will be printed during the day to take away.
