What is happening in Physical Education....

National and local developments continue to focus on increasing pupils’ access to high quality physical education and school sport. The courses identified below provide opportunities for school staff to increase their confidence, subject knowledge and overall effectiveness of teaching across a broader range of activities than in previous years. Introductory courses in outdoor and adventurous activities will provide a foundation for those who wish to gain instructor qualifications enabling them to lead groups of pupils.

In addition to the courses listed below professional development is also available on request through targeted school support and school-based training. Possible areas of focus include: self-evaluation, policy and curriculum planning, assessment for learning, provision for gifted and talented pupils, strategies for inclusion, and differentiation, safe practice in specific areas of activity, for example, gymnastics.
