Target audience
Teaching assistants, NQTs, teachers in the early years of their careers, experienced teachers, new and experienced leaders and managers.
Course content
This session will provide a brief introduction to the specific learning difficulty, dyslexia. It will consider the characteristics displayed by a pupil with dyslexia, their implications for the classroom and general strategies for aiding their progress.
Intended outcomes
Participants will:
- be aware of the characteristics displayed by a dyslexic pupil
- consider the practical implications for the classroom
- be aware of some general strategies that would help a dyslexic pupil to access the curriculum.
