The Education Improvement Service is the new title of the authority's school improvement service (formerly known as the Education Advisory Service).
With a new service comes a new subscription scheme. The previous scheme, which many schools will be familiar with, remains - providing access to free subject/aspect network meetings and 20% discount on the majority of courses and conferences - and will be known as the Basic Level. Three new levels have been introduced which will entitle subscribers to increasing amounts of school-based development based on part day 'credits' equivalent to a morning, afternoon, twilight or evening (for governor development) session. These are being called the Bronze level (worth 7 credits ie 3.5 days), Silver level (worth 14 credits ie 7 days) and the Gold level (worth 21 credits ie 10.5 days).
Attached to this page is further information on the subscription scheme, including:
- A summary of the subscription offer and charges, outlining the various new levels at which schools can buy back support, and the savings these provide
- A summary of phase-related subject/aspect network meetings which schools can access free of charge as a subscribing school
- A proforma for schools subscribing to the Bronze, Silver or Gold to complete and return to highlight the bespoke school-based development they want to use their 'credits' for, from a rich and exciting menu of opportunities (though schools will be free to request whatever support they require to meet their own needs)
- Guidance notes on how to fill in the proforma, and what happens once it is submitted
