What is happening in the Religious Education ....

Unlike other curriculum areas at Key Stage 3 the national changes will not affect RE, however, it is important that we continue to develop challenge within the subject through the development of active and engaging classroom practice. SACRE is developing a more proactive role in supporting teachers across the secondary phase and is seeking to gather views from the classroom to inform its actions.

The CPD provision is aimed at:

• supporting non-specialist teaching in response to a recent SACRE survey
• developing greater challenge within the subject, and
• providing support for schools in the development of GCSE and post provision.

Secondary Religious Education Network Meetings
Subject network meetings will include:

• an update on national, local and regional developments in the subject
• professional development in a topical subject-related issue
• sharing of effective practice with colleagues from other schools.
