Programme

Tony Davies has been leading mask theatre and mask making workshops with pupils in schools and training workshops for teachers for the last 21 years.

"Trading Faces are, rightfully, well established for their creativity in performance and workshops with masks. This is a company that opens people's eyes to the possibilities of mask work and converts the steeliest sceptic." John Hucker, National Drama.

This course will appeal to:

  • secondary art teachers who wish to explore mask making for art, design and technology
  • secondary drama teachers who want to make masks with pupils for use in drama
  • art and drama departments who would like to collaborate on an art/drama project
  • primary teachers who would like to create masks for story enactment and art/design technology

Please come in clothes suitable for drama (trainers or soft-soled shoes and trousers ideally) and bring an apron to get messy! The majority of the day will focus on making skills, but there will also be a short look at using masks and mask performance technique to inform the making process.

We aim to put finalised course programmes on the website two weeks ahead of the course date.
