Course content
All teaching assistants who wish to gain HLTA status must attend this course prior to the three day preparation for assessment course. It is designed to ensure that candidates have all the necessary skills, experience and qualifications to successfully gain HLTA status. Following the course, candidates will be guided towards the next suitable training cohort.

Programme
Before attending this course, candidates should have:
- Substantial experience of working as a Teaching Assistant
- a level 2 qualification in English and mathematics
- experience of teaching whole classes
The course will ensure that you are familiar with the HLTA standards and how they apply to your work in school. It will also help you to understand the requirements of the assessment process and make a decision as to whether HLTA status is right for you.
