Parents of pupils who wish to buy a musical instrument can save the V.A.T. (17.5%) if they can arrange for their school to purchase the instrument on their behalf.

This arrangement can be made with any music shop.

However, if your school does not offer this scheme then you may wish to use the scheme that The Shropshire Music Service offers in partnership with the musical instrument suppliers listed in the attached PDF file.

This special arrangement for The Shropshire Music Service can be made only with the music retailers listed in the attached file. It is only available for children in full-time education at LA maintained schools who are having instrumental lessons with Shropshire Music Service staff.
