The team of 70 high quality talented instrumental teachers work with over 4000 young musicians each week on a wide range of orchestral, band and 'pop' instruments. All lessons for pupils are generously subsidised by the LA and parents of pupils pay the remainder of the costs of The Music Service. We offer 32 lessons spread unequally over the three school terms usually on the school premises. Some teaching takes place at area music centres.
From 1 April 2007:
The cost to parents will be £83.20 per term for 3 terms each year, which will pay for group tuition for those in LA schools. Parents are asked to make the first payment in advance with future payments being settled by termly invoices.
The Local Authority financial support scheme:
Your Local Authority operates a generous scheme to support families who are in receipt of free school meals:
- lessons are free if a child is in receipt of free school meals
- a 25 per cent remission is available to families who meet certain Child Tax Credit criteria.
