National Cycle Network Route 81 (Lôn Cambria) - Welshpool, Shrewsbury, Wellington, Cosford and Albrighton.
Route 81 is part of the award-winning National Cycle Network. The full route runs from Aberystwyth to Wolverhampton, with the section running through Wales called Lôn Cambria (the Cambria Cycleway). Shropshire Council has produced three free leaflets covering the section of the route which passes through Shropshire:
- Welshpool to Shrewsbury (Lôn Cambria) - Enjoy breathtaking views as you pedal up the Long Mountain and saunter along riverside lanes (27 miles).
- Shrewsbury to Wellington - Make tracks alongside the river and old canal; and take time to enjoy a slower pace of life, as you cycle this scenic route (13 miles).
- Wellington to Albrighton - Explore Shropshire's contrasting historic villages and industrial new town. Make time for plane spotting at the RAF Museum, Cosford (16 miles).
All three leaflets are available from local tourist information centres, or you can order a copy by following the link on this page, or you can download copies of the leaflets which are attached to this page.
