It's great to get out and about on a bike in Shropshire. Discover hundreds of miles of National Cycle Network routes along quiet lanes, explore traffic-free trails along old railways and waterways, follow the cycle rides from historic towns and get muddy on mountain bike tracks in wood and forests.

Town walking and cycling maps

Cycle touring - National Cycle Network
There are currently five National Cycle Network (NCN) routes which pass through Shropshire:
- Six Castles Cycleway (NCN route 44).
- Mercian Way (NCN route 45).
- NCN route 81 (Lon Cambria).
- Regional route 75.
- Regional route 31.

Shorter circular routes - Market towns cycle rides series

Jack Mytton Way and other bridleways
Shropshire has many attractive bridleways, which in addition to being suitable for horse riders are also available to cyclists. The council has produced two sets of leaflets covering bridleways in the south of the county:
- Jack Mytton Way - pack of eight leaflets covering over 100 miles of rural bridleways and quiet country lanes through some of Shropshire's most beautiful and unspoilt countryside.
- Ride Shropshire - pack of 10 circular ride leaflets covering more than 130 miles through the Shropshire Hills
