Conference attendance

Please note, the council's policy is that councillors should attend national events of this kind only where it can be demonstrated that they are directly relevant to their particular individual responsibilities, and that there is likely to be a real benefit from such attendance to Shropshire residents, in terms of:
- Understanding of new government initiatives or of best practice elsewhere
- Opportunities to influence and advocate on behalf of the county
- Networking to promote inter-council collaboration and joint working
Therefore, at many such events, there is no representative of Shropshire Council present, as it has been judged that such benefits are unlikely to be obtained.
