Don’t lose your right to vote
The 2011/12 Annual Canvass has now closed and all the information collected has been used to publish a new Register of Electors, which is now available to view at the Shirehall in Shrewsbury. Further copies will be made available at other locations over the next few weeks.
The 2011/12 Register will remain in place until the end of November 2012, when a new one will be published to replace it.
Two versions of the register have been published. The full version contains the names of all people who have registered, and the edited version contains only the names of people who have no objection to having their details available in the public domain. The edited register can be purchased by third parties upon request.
Please contact the Electoral Registration Office as soon as possible if your details are not included and you think they should be, or if you have moved house since last registering, or have changed your name because of marriage, divorce or through deed poll. If you need to make any alterations, you will need to complete a 'rolling registration' form - the link on this page explains what you need to do.
To be eligible to vote in any election, your name must appear on the Register of Electors no later than eleven working days before an election, so we must receive a written application, which has been signed by you, no later than that date.
For further details on registration and voting, please contact the Elections Team at the Shirehall on 0345 678 9015.
